July 31st

I made this amazing sandwich yesterday! It sounds strange but i promise its good!

Ingredients:

Two Slices of Bread (of your choice)

Hellmans Mayo

Turkey

Romaine Lettuce

Sharp Chedder Cheese

Grapes - quartered

Directions:

Spread the mayo on one slice of bread. Place quartered grapes on that same slice. Lay lettuce on top of the grapes and then the cheese. Finally add turkey and the second slice of bread.

Fruit Salad

Ingredients:
Green and red grapes, Kiwifruit, Raspberries, Strawberries, Melon, Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Banana, Tangerine, Blueberries, Blackberries, Pear, Apple


Directions:
Wash and prepare fruit. Brush apple, pear, and banana with a little lemon juice to stop browning. Chop the fruit to roughly the same size. Leave grapes whole or cut in half. Chuck in a bowl.

Ideas:

  • Squeeze a little fresh orange juice in or pour a little apple juice over it.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice and sprinkle with a little sugar. Leave and the fruit starts to ooze its own juices.

PB&J

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chunky peanut butter

2 slices whole-wheat bread, toasted

1⁄2 banana, thinly sliced

Drizzle of honeySprinkle of ground cinnamon

2 slices crispy cooked turkey bacon, crumbled


Directions:
Spread the peanut butter on 1 slice of the toast. Arrange the banana slices on top of the peanut butter, drizzle with honey, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Top with bacon crumbles and the second slice of toast.

Granola Bars

Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

3/4 cup oats1 tablespoon semolina flour or cornmeal

1/3 cup packed soft brown sugar


Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Melt butter in pan. Slap oats, semolina or corn flour, and sugar into a big bowl. Pour butter into oat mix. Mix well. Tip mix into a well-greased shallow baking pan (11 x 7 inches). Press to cover tin. Bake for 15 minutes. When slightly cooled, cut into 12 bars with a sharp knife. Leave in pan to cool completely.

Pizza Bread

Ingredients:
Piece of baguette, halved lengthwise

1 clove garlic, cut in halfAa little olive oil

2 tablespoons crushed tomatoes with herbs or tomato sauce

3 slices favorite cheese (or 3/4 cup grated)

Pinch of dried oregano


Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Rub the garlic clove on the baguette. Drizzle with the olive oil. Put on a baking tray in the hot oven for 5 minutes. Spread the tomato sauce thinly over the hot bread. Top with the cheese. Bake for a further 5 minutes. Sprinkle with oregano.
